What Is Matte Clear PPF?

The matte clear paint protection film (PPF) is a transparent matte polyurethane film that can directly cover the original paint surface of the vehicle. The matte clear PPF provides solid protection for the entire vehicle and specific areas. It can prevent stone splashes, resist scratches, and effectively protect against UV damage.

It is like a hidden shield for making the car surface appear soft and non-reflective like velvet, while still allowing the underlying original color to be clearly visible.

The customized PPF provided by Hangzhou WrapMasterPPF mainly offers two different finishes: high gloss and matte. The high gloss PPF is designed to enhance the gloss, making the paint surface look more moist, while the matte clear PPF is the opposite. It creates a low-key and restrained appearance by reducing the glossiness.

Matte Finish and Low Orange Peel

WrapMasterPPF strictly controls the coating process, ensuring a smooth and uniform matte surface with extremely low orange peel. This effectively guarantees that the entire vehicle will exhibit a highly consistent matte texture. And this matte finish meets the strict surface quality requirements of high-end vehicles.

High Stretchability for Complex Curves

WrapMasterPPF high gloss PPF is designed with a maximum tensile strength of 25 MPa. Its coating layer elongation is more than 200%, and the finished film elongation exceeds 300%.

This means that it will not easily tear or deform when stretched. It perfectly fits and wraps around components such as the front bumper, side mirrors, or door handles with complex concave and convex shapes. 

Self-Healing Coating

Our surface coating has excellent scratch self-repairing capabilities. It can quickly repair minor scratches and spiral patterns under environmental temperatures ranging from 40°C to 60°C (such as when exposed to direct sunlight or heated by a hot air gun). This feature effectively reduces the number of repairs requested by your customers.

Impact Resistance

For some conditions, such as sand and gravel splashing during high-speed driving and foreign objects hitting the road surface, our matte clear PPF can effectively absorb impact energy and protect the original car paint from damage. Through laboratory impact tests, our product’s impact resistance performance is superior to the average level of industry products.

Hydrophobic Topcoat

The top coating adopts fluorosilane-modified hydrophobic technology, so our matte clear PPF has excellent self-cleaning properties. Pollutants such as rainwater, muddy water, bird droppings, and resins are difficult to adhere to. Terminal vehicle owners only need to perform regular car washing to keep the surface clean.

Long-Term UV Protection with Color Stability

The aliphatic TPU base material has a molecular structure without easily oxidizable benzene ring groups. Combined with our anti-UV coating dual-layer composite protection, the ΔE value is stably controlled within 1.0 in the accelerated aging test. Under normal use and regular maintenance conditions, our product can ensure a visible anti-yellowing performance lasting for up to 5–8 years.

Chemical Resistance

The matte PPF film of WrapMasterPPF can effectively resist corrosion from gasoline, brake fluid, ceramic coatings, and acidic cleaners. Even when repeatedly exposed to harsh chemical substances, our product can maintain integrity and matte clarity without cracking, fogging, or softening.

Full Vehicle Body

The full vehicle wrap not only provides the ultimate physical protection but also redefines the visual texture of the entire vehicle. Its low orange peel texture casting process and 100% aliphatic TPU base material present a highly consistent matte satin effect. for. You can use our matte clear PPF on different sheet metal parts, such as the hood, roof, doors, and rear fenders, to effectively block the penetration of ultraviolet rays. 

The uniform self-repair coating covering the entire vehicle surface can quickly rebound and smooth out even after minor scratches, such as wash marks, tree branch scratches, or daily minor scratches.

Full Front

Some areas, such as the engine hood, front bumper, fenders, headlights, and side rearview mirrors, are prone to impact. These body areas bear 80% of the road impact. Our matte clear PPF has excellent impact resistance (the tensile strength of the TPU base material is ≥ 25 MPa), preventing paint peeling. Its high tensile property (elongation rate ≥ 300%) ensures that the film material can perfectly fit the complex curved surface shape of the bumper.

Partial Protection

Our matte clear PPF can be precisely cut and cover the following high-frequency wear areas:

• Door edges: Preventing paint peeling caused by door opening collisions with the garage wall, neighboring vehicles, or obstacles;
• Trunk door handles and boot cups: Eliminating the accumulation of scratches caused by nails repeatedly opening and closing the door;
• Side skirt (floor of the door): Resisting erosion from sand and de-icing agents splashed by the wheels;
• Rear fender (lower part of the rear side panel): This area is particularly severely affected by the impact of gravel thrown out by the rear wheels, being a major area prone to rust and paint peeling.
