What Is High Gloss PPF?

What Is High Gloss PPF

High gloss PPF is a functional film made from transparent aliphatic TPU as the base material. It undergoes special surface treatment to maximize the retention and enhancement of the original vehicle paint’s glossiness.

The main difference between it and ordinary films is the aspect of flatness. Ordinary film is limited by its material and process; you will often find micro-level undulations on its surface. This will cause diffuse reflection under light. So it creates an annoying orange peel effect.

While high gloss PPF does not alter the original color of the car paint, its light reflection is close to that of an ideal mirror without any orange peel. At the same time, it provides the vehicle with a flexible physical shield to protect against debris, chemical pollutants, minor scratches, and other daily damage. It is undoubtedly a convenient choice for your customers.

Advantages of WrapMasterPPF’s High Gloss PPF

High Light Transmittance and Surface Smoothness

The flatness of our high gloss PPF surface can reach Ra ≤ 0.02 μm, and its visible light transmittance exceeds 92%. This means that the original color of the car paint can be truly displayed both during the day and at night. At the same time, its mirror effect is comparable to the brightness of the new car’s polish wax.

Comprehensive Impact Protection Performance

Comprehensive Impact Protection Performance

The thick and tough TPU layer can effectively disperse the impact forces from flying stones, hailstones, etc. In laboratory tests, an 8.5-mil-thick PPF can withstand the impact of 8 mm steel balls at a speed of 60 km/h without damaging the paint surface. Our high-gloss PPF can provide a reassuring guarantee for vehicles traveling at high speeds.

Good Flexibility and Strong Extensibility

WrapMasterPPF high gloss PPF is designed with a maximum tensile strength of 25 MPa. Its coating layer elongation is more than 200%, and the finished film elongation exceeds 300%.

It can easily wrap around the complex curves of the bumper, the rounded surfaces of the rearview mirror, and the concave areas of the door handles. During the construction process, it will not rebound or sag and will perfectly fit every curve of the vehicle body.

Extreme Hydrophobic Topcoat

Extreme Hydrophobic Topcoat

We adopt fluorosilicone composite hydrophobic technology and a water drop angle of about 85°. This causes water droplets to form round and smooth spheres when they come into contact with the membrane surface.

During rainy driving, water droplets will quickly roll off with the airflow. Dust and dirt are easily removed. There is no residue of water stains, and the self-cleaning effect of the vehicle body is remarkable.

Stain Resistance

Our high gloss PPF top coating is dense and smooth, so it is difficult for contaminants to penetrate and adhere. Whether it’s gum, bird droppings, insect corpses, asphalt, or industrial dust, you can easily remove them with just water or neutral car wash liquid. This significantly reduces the difficulty of daily cleaning.

UV Resistance and Anti-Yellowing Performance

The molecular structure of aliphatic TPU itself does not contain unstable double bonds. Combined with our UV absorbers in the coating, it can block over 99% of harmful ultraviolet rays. Its surface will not noticeably turn yellow or foggy under sunlight exposure and will always maintain high transparency.

Good Corrosion Resistance

Our high gloss PPF has undergone strict performance tests. The coating layer has excellent tolerance to acid rain, alkaline car wash solutions, and mild organic solvents (such as gasoline and asphalt cleaners).

For example, in terms of water resistance, we conducted the test according to the GB/T 4671-2014 standard at 40℃ for 400 hours; in terms of acid and alkali resistance, we carried out the test following GB/T 11547-2008, with soaking for 24 hours. There were no changes on the surface. It can effectively prevent corrosive substances from coming into direct contact with the car paint. This avoids the oxidation, fading, or spotting of the original finish.

Easy Repositionability

Easy Repositionability

The adhesive backing adopts a design with adjustable initial adhesion force. Our high gloss PPF can be easily positioned and quickly fixed without any displacement; if it is accidentally misaligned, one person can easily remove and reapply it without leaving any residue. This is very friendly for construction workers or beginners.

Applications of WrapMasterPPF’s High Gloss PPF

Full Vehicle Body Protection

Full vehicle coating is the most comprehensive protection solution, covering all exposed paint surfaces such as the hood, roof, fenders, doors, and trunk. WrapMasterPPF’s high gloss PPF provides 360° all-round protection for the vehicle. Whether the vehicle is in motion or parked, our high-gloss PPF can handle risks such as sand and gravel, acid rain, and tree branches scraping.

Headlight and Taillight Tint Protection

Headlight and Taillight Tint Protection

The outer shells of car lights are mostly made of polycarbonate material. This material tends to turn yellow and crack under long-term exposure to ultraviolet rays and sand particles. Our high-gloss PPF can effectively delay aging and keep the headlights as brilliant as new. The car lights can maintain the transparency of the shell and do not affect the lighting effect.

Hood and Front Bumper

These two areas are most prone to being scratched by small stones while driving on the highway. They often cause white spots and paint peeling. Our high gloss PPF is thick and elastic. It can absorb the impact of stones and cushion the force. Your customer can get precise protection for car paint at a low cost.

High-Wear Zone Paint Protection

The interior of the vehicle door handles, the threshold strips, the edges of the wheel arches, etc., are prone to scratches when people are getting in and out of the vehicle or moving luggage. By using our high gloss PPF for local cutting and pasting, it not only maintains the aesthetic appearance but also eliminates the wear and tear.

How Long Does Your High Gloss PPF Last? And How to Clean and Maintain?

Under normal usage conditions, the lifespan of our high gloss PPF can reach 10 years or even longer (depending on maintenance conditions).

Its daily maintenance is very simple. Your customers or workers just need to use neutral car wash liquid and soft sponges or towels. But please avoid close and direct spraying of high-pressure water guns onto the edge of the film. And avoid using abrasive waxes, hard brushes, or strong degreasing agents to prevent damage to the coating.

Can You Customize High Gloss PPF for My Brand?

Yes. WrapMasterPPF offers a complete range of OEM/ODM services, including film thickness, coating performance, packaging, warranty cards, and installation instructions. We have helped dozens of global customers successfully launch their own brands. Whether you need a small-scale trial run or a large-scale mass production, we can provide a one-stop solution.

What Is the MOQ for Wholesale High Gloss PPF?
